You see Volleyball under the Sports tab and you instantly know what’s about to happen next. The Boks are quiet, the PSL is resting, so you figure that placing a quick bet on spikes is not going to hurt anyone. Before you do so, it’s important that we tidy up a couple of things and make sure your money is going to the right place.
Common slips
Betting in volleyball isn’t the same as betting in soccer. With totals being so tight in volleyball, just one or two rallies can make all the difference. When betting, focus on the number, not the team badge, and before you make up your mind, you should probably take a look at the pre-match lines on https://yesplay.bet/sports/prematch/volleyball.
In volleyball, if the score of the first four sets goes above 25, or the fifth set goes above 15, those extra points will still be counted towards the totals and handicaps. YesPlay has this rule written in black and white, so keep that in mind when placing bets, because that 26–24 score might end up costing you.
Be careful and never assume that handicaps are the same in different sports. A two-way handicap can be voided in case of a perfect tie after the adjustment. Three-way lines may be settled in a draw. Please read the rules. Both sets handicap and points handicap behave according to the rules, which you can find on the Rules page.
Smart habits
You always have to start with the statistics first. So if you’re in a habit of checking today soccer results, try doing the same with volleyball. When you do that, try to look for patterns: recent set scores, who is having a bad game, etc.
Live is fun, but only if you’re following the score closely and know what it means. For example, two points on serve is much better than two points without it. If you see that Cash Out is offered, don’t use it to fix a mistake you made. Instead, use it when things are going according to plan. Be smart with your bets, keep your stakes reasonable, and don’t go crazy chasing big wins.
